TITLE: "Second Look"

Yeah, so. You know Chuck and Dollhouse? The shows I was grousing about the other day? No? Well. I was. So, of course, I ended up writing a crossover snippet. It would not go away.

And so I give you Chuck/Dollhouse: A crossover that makes perfect sense as long as you don't think about it too deeply. No real spoilers for either show beyond the basic premises.

Last year, I issued a request for crossover challenges, and wrote snippets for them. I got damn near all of them done (I never finish every challenge for these things, I'm afraid; some of them just don't gel for me) and had a lot of fun. So I'm gonna do another round.

Right, so, in a total one-eighty from my random gen crossover, have some Fix fic. (Even gen Fix fic, which this decidedly is not, would, I suspect, be a total one-eighty from your usual genfic. I'm not sure gen Fix fic is even possible.)

So apiphile is hosting a kissing fic meme, which you should all go post in, and she asked, um - someone else entirely for John Winchester/Comedian.

I poached it and immediately fucked it up, because it failed to be slash. Yeah. that's right. I wrote something that isn't slash. Quick, get your smelling salts!

So here it is, a hastily written Watchmen/Supernatural crossover ficlet in which canons mesh almost too well and also I make no promises about the Comedian's characterization, since I'm not as familiar with WM as I usually like to be before I try my hand at fic. But for commentfic, that's allowed.

Holy crap, I finally finished typing it up. In celebration, I give it a proper header, even though this is possibly the most obscure fandom I have ever written for and there's no damn place to link to it from.

There are many things I could be doing right now, with various levels of productiveness and importance. But, I spent the evening rewatching a few episodes of Doctor Who's series four, so instead I wrote an incomprehensible drabble.

This is a Doctor Who/Les Miserables crossover, and will make no sense if you haven't seen DW 4x11, "Turn Left." For that matter, it might not make sense even if you have.

I have been generally unproductive today, to a generally depressing degree, so I decided that, if nothing else, I would at least get the Les Mis ficbit I keep mentioning typed up. (I'm also working slowly but steadily on the kiss challenge meme! If you haven't gotten an answer from me, don't worry, I'm getting there.) So here it is. It has officially been upgraded from "terrible" to "mediocre." At least, in my opinion, but then I'm sick of freaking looking at it.

This is Valjean/Javert, a strong PG-13 or so, and strictly musicalverse because - say it with me now - book!Javert remembered to bring backup. See, I told you that wasn't as random for me to fixate on as it seemed.

Way the hell back in July, when I was innocently seeking distraction from the agonizing wait for the Doctor Who finale and blissfully unaware that said agonizing wait would be the best part of the entire episode (oh yeah, I'm still mad), I asked for crossover challenge requests to keep myself occupied.

. . . no, this is not a second round. Not right now. Maybe some other time. I was going to put the results all up in one post, but, uh, I forgot. Until now. I got almost all of them done, excepting the ones that were requests for something I was already trying to write at the time, and also I never want to write a Dogma crossover again, GAIL. ;) But there are still twelve random snippets right here, presented in no particular order. So I guess this was inevitable. All I could do in the end was try to go the slightly less predictable route.

Torchwood/The Fix. It was GOING to be a drabble, but Jack wouldn't shut up, so it ended up being two and a half drabbles instead.

So americanleaguer and I spent the evening tormenting each other with awesome AU ideas, until finally we settled on a snippet exchange. (Pay attention, apiphile; this is gonna look familiar.) So I guess we're gonna be writing snippets at each other until we get bored? I don't know.

Anyway. Mine is a Torchwood AU where it was Jack, not Gray, who was abducted. (Oh, and Jack's name is still Jack because Gray calls him Jack in "Exit Wounds," which allows one to assume that there were coincidental matching first names and so Jack really only changed his last name and also to avoid the headache of trying to rename him. And resist the urge to name him something like Orange or Puce.)



( Gray is eighteen years old when Jack comes home. )

So you know the best way to get something written? Publicly swear that I'm trying to ignore it. And thus, a Dark Knight/The Fix crossover. It was supposed to just be a commentfic for apiphile, but she seems intent on making other people aware of its existence, so I decided it would be best to polish it into something a little less embarrassing and stick it in its own post.

Vague spoilers for The Dark Knight, taking place some time after the movie ends; slightly more specific spoilers for The Fix, in case anyone is worried, taking place toward the end and becoming massively AU.
